This 1 day First Aid will be run following the accreditation framework and guidelines of St John Ambulance and will provide participants with an Emergency First Aid in the Workplace qualification to assist and help you be better prepared in responding to accidents and issues you may come across in group and across your activities.

Rec 3 training will be ideally suited to someone who is still relatively new to Scouting and eager to develop themselves in line with BAS training and/ or a Scouter with a lapsed Rec 3 qualification. Cost is £25. Limited to 1 Scouter per Scout group

Interactive Lecture via Zoom on BLS, AED and Basic First Aid Aims and Objectives:

  • Adult & Paediatric Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • The safe use of an AED
  • Assessing a collapsed individual
  • The management of:
    • Head injury
    • Nosebleed
    • Dislodged tooth/teeth
    • Burns
    • Bites (Animal and human)
    • Stings
    • Wounds and bleeding
    • Fractures

  • recognise and manage medical emergencies:
    • Choking Adult & Infant
    • Anaphylaxis and the use of Adrenaline Auto-injectors
    • Asthma
    • Chest Pain
    • Seizures and the Recovery Position
    • Hypoglycaemia
    • Stroke & FAST test
