One Programme is the programme of Scouting Ireland and is used in all 5 Programme Sections. This principle means that each section of Scouting Ireland delivers the programme in a similar way. One Programme delivers the aim of Scouting Ireland through the use of the Scout Method and operates on the basis of Plan, Do and Review.
The Beaver Colony is made up of all the young people and is broken into small groups called Lodges. There are 6-8 young people in each Lodge.
As with all age groups, all parts of the Scout Method are equally important. Planning and reviewing of all activities take place in Log Chews (informal groups of young people). Through these Log Chews, Beavers are offered choices to help plan the programme, meetings and activities.
Animated characters are used to illustrate the six key areas of development and growth (Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional, Spiritual) for our young people.
